NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Gregory "Eggie" Darnell Miller Sr., 49, of 100 Tyler Ave., 
died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at Sentara Careplex Hospital, Hampton, Va.  
He was a native of Oriental, N.C., and a veteran of the U. S. Army.  
His funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Pilgrim 
Chapel M.B. Church, Oriental, with the Rev. Slater Matthews officiating. 
Burial will follow in the Odd Fellow Cemetery.  
He is survived by his son, Gregory Miller Jr. of San Marcos, Calif.; three 
daughters, Binettea Freeman of Petersburg, Va., Chereese Miller of 
Richmond, Va., Lauren Bland Miller of Hampton, Va.; his mother, Christine 
Miller Cannon of Oriental; and his father, Irving Matthews Harvey and 
stepmother, Earlene Harvey of Hampton, Va.; three brothers, Ervan Harvey 
Jr. of Columbia, S.C., Keith Cannon of Oriental and Tony Manuel of 
Merritt; seven sisters, Pamela Cox, Ashley Hill and Nikki Giovanni Hill of 
Columbia, S.C., Sandra Patrick and Lynn Gardner, Stephanie Henderson of 
New Bern, and Gwendolyn Cannon of Oriental.  
The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 72 Perkins St.,
Oriental.
