Obituary of Harold Lenwood Spruill Jr ~ 2005

MERRITT - Harold Lenwood Spruill Jr., 71, died Sunday, May 15, 2005.  
A member of Bayboro United Methodist Church, he retired from Pamlico 
County Sheriff's Office and was a retired farmer and veteran of the U.S. 
Army. He volunteered at the Hope Clinic and was Guardian Ad Litem for 
children's rights. He also had served on the school board, was a 
scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts and enjoyed flying.  
He is survived by four sons, Joseph Spruill of Oriental, Woody Spruill and 
David Spruill of Merritt and Paul Spruill of Oriental; one daughter, 
Melissa Spruill Colley of St. Cloud, Fla.; one sister, Peggy Jackson of 
Charlotte; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the 
Rev. Richard Baldwin officiating.  
Burial will be in the family cemetery.  
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Bryant Funeral 
Home and other times at the residence.
