Obituary of Harriett Marett McClees ~ 2011

Harriett Marett McClees, 94, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at 
Homeplace Assisted Living in New Bern.  
She attended Oriental United Methodist Church. She was a teacher with 
Pamlico County Schools for 38 years and was a member of the Pamlico County 
Retired Teachers Association.  
She was the widow of William Paul McClees Sr. and was also preceded in 
death by her daughter, Catherine Jane McClees-Tyndall.  
She is survived by her son, Dr. William Paul McClees Jr. and wife, Peggy, 
of Havelock; four grandchildren, Michael McClees and wife Beth, Tom 
McClees, Valerie McClees Reed and husband Richard, Paula Tyndall Steele 
and husband Eric; five great-grandsons, Jack McClees, Wyatt McClees, 
Tyndall Steele, Janeson Steele and Marett Steele; and one great-
granddaughter, Reece Reed.  
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 25, at Bryant Funeral 
Home Chapel with Michael McClees officiating. Interment will follow 
immediately in Oriental Cemetery.  
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the 
funeral home.
