Obituary of Harvey T Hill ~ 2008

Harvey T. Hill, 64, of Arapahoe died Sunday at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
He was born in Kinston and lived the past 28 years in Arapahoe. He was a 
heavy-equipment operator for the N.C. Department of Transportation, a 
member and past chief of the Arapahoe Volunteer Fire Department, assistant 
fire marshal of Pamlico County, and fire instructor for Pamlico Community 
College and Craven County.  The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday 
at the Southwood Memorial Christian Church in Kinston with Rick Vernon 
officiating. Interment will be in Deep Run Cemetery in Kinston.  
He is survived by his wife, Sheila L. Hill; five sons, John Harvey Hill of 
Arapahoe, Donald Hill of Pikeville, David Hill of Stantonsburg, Mark 
Burkette of Nashville, Tenn., and Christopher Burkette of Kinston; daughter, 
Brenda Burkette of LaGrange; mother and stepfather, Irene and Ron Hagell of
Kinston; sister, Kathryn Kilpatrick of Lexington; and three grandchildren. 
A visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Arapahoe 
Volunteer Fire Department, and the family will receive friends at 2 p.m. 
Thursday at the Southwood Memorial Christian Church in Kinston.
