Obituary of Herman Linwood Ireland ~ 2006

In loving memory of husband, father, grandfather and special friend, 
Herman "PaPa" Linwood Ireland, 82 of Alliance, who passed away peacefully 
Monday, March 6, 2006 at home surrounded by his family. 
He was a long-standing member of Rock of Zion Free Will Baptist Church in 
Grantsboro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna "GiGi" Wilkinson 
Ireland. 
He is survived by his loving companion Shirley Gay; one son, Linwood 
Ireland and wife, Glenda; one daughter, Luray Jones and husband, George; 
grandchildren, Alton R. Whealton and companion, Charlie Wittmer, Dail K. 
Wilkinson, Jr. and companion, Donna Buck, Beth Bynum and husband, Michael, 
Tracy I. Sanders and husband, Don, and Michael S. Ireland; two 
step-grandchildren, Dean Jones and Donnie Jones; great-grandchildren, 
Jaron and Japeth Whealton, Allen Nobles, Taylor Underwood, Gabrielle 
Whealton, William Sanders, Mikayla Sanders, Bryce Bynum and Caylee Bynum; 
sisters, Dorothy Harrison, Geraldine Ireland and Mariene Simpson; and 
many more family and friends that loved him very much.  
A funeral service was held Thursday, March 9 at 2:00 pm at Bryant Funeral 
Home with the Rev. Michael Bryan and the Rev. T.O. Terry officiating. 
Burial was in Sandhill Cemetery in Reelsboro.  
The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 8 from 
7:00 pm until 8:00 pm and other times at the home on Mill Pond road in 
Alliance.
