time resident of Grantsboro, N.C. where she was a proud and dedicated
member of Bayboro United Methodist Church. Her accomplishments were many
but one she was particularly proud of was her role as secretary/treasurer
of the local chapter of the American Cancer Society for 25 years. Mrs.
Alderman was the wife of the late Pete Alderman and the daughter of the
late Nathan Dennis Ford and Lillie Mae Curry. Growing up in the south, she
developed a love of gardening, cooking, embroidery and needlepoint. She
leaves behind many beautiful hand made treasures including elaborate
Christmas stockings that will be enjoyed by her family for many years.
She is survived by her son, Ray S. Alderman of Scottsdale, AZ; her
daughter, Dr. Sabra A. McNeill and her husband, Jim, of Raleigh, NC; her
grandchildren, Bruce Dilworth, Marshall Drez, Emily Alderman and Paul
Woodard, II; and her great grandchildren, Austin Drez and Ford Dilworth.
Her family will miss so many wonderful things about her but in particular
her great sense of humor, sweet soft kisses, and her loving spirit. In
lieu of flowers, Hilda requested contributions be made to the American
Cancer Society, designated for the Pamlico County Chapter, at 930-B
Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C. 27834 or toll free 1-800-227-2345. The
