Obituary of Howard Paul Gates ~ 2007

ORIENTAL - Howard Paul Gates, 83, of Oriental died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, 
at Craven Regional Medical Center.  
He served his country as a MP in the U.S. Army during WWII and he served 
as a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. 
He settled in Oriental, N.C., in 1985 after retiring from Bethlehem Steel 
as an electrical foreman.  
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose Marie; two sons, William and 
wife, Janice, of Ontario, N.Y., Howard and wife, Nancy, of Greece, N.Y.; 
daughter, Valerie of Riverview, Fla.; grandchildren, William J., Michael, 
Denise, Louis, Michael and Andrew; and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jaden 
and Logan.  
Private services will be held at a later date.  
Arrangements by Cotton Funeral Home and Crematory.
