VANDEMERE - Hugh Hudson Barnes Jr., 74, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at 
home.
He was an avid gardener.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Lewis Barnes; one son, Hugh Barnes of 
Goose Creek; one daughter, Terri B. Smith of Supply; 11 grandchildren; and 
three great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 28, at Mt. Zion Original 
Free Will Baptist Church, Cash Corner, with the Rev. Owen Peele and the 
Rev. Dale Delvin officiating. Interment will follow immediately in 
Celestial Memorial Gardens, Cash Corner.
The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service
at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to 
Mt. Zion OFWB Church, P.O. Box 68, Bayboro, NC 28515.
