ORIENTAL - Icelina Thompson Saunders, 89, of 77 Marsh Lane, died Sunday, 
Nov. 20, 2011.  
She was a member of Broad Creek United Church of Christ serving on the 
Mother's Board. She was formerly employed by the Pamlico County School 
System.  Her funeral will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Broad 
Creek United Church of Christ, Straight Road, Oriental with the Rev. 
Siechieh Reed officiating. The burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.  
She is survived by her son, Calvin Syril Saunders and daughter, Janis 
Hamilton, both of Oriental; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren 
and two great-great-grandchildren.  
The family will receive friends at 1590 Orchard Creek Road, Oriental.  
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday and noon to 5 p.m. Friday, 
at the funeral home.
