Obituary of Ida Mae "Ike" Johnson Smith ~ 2008

Ida Mae "Ike" Johnson Smith, 98, of 99 Park Avenue, Mesic, died Sunday, 
March 23, 2008, at Craven Regional Medical Center.  
She was born in the Maribel community of Pamlico County and resided in 
Mesic for over 60 years. She was a member of Mount Olive Missionary 
Baptist Church and was formerly employed in the seafood industry.  
The funeral will be held at noon Friday, March 28, 2008, at Mount Olive 
Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. C.A. Felton Jr. and the Rev. 
Theron Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Mesic Memorial Cemetery.  
She is survived by her son, Charles Smith of Mesic; two daughters, Minnie 
Lee Williams of Long Island, N.Y., and Ruth Smith of South Ozone Park, 
N.Y.; one brother, John W. Johnson of Mesic and one sister, Alice Parker 
of Mesic; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-
grandchild.   
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be from 
noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Oscar's 
Mortuary.
