Ila Carawan Barnes, 69, was called home to her Lord and Savior July 8, 2007, 
after a lengthy illness.  
Although being very ill for so long, she never lost her sense of humor or 
her faith. She was born in Lowland, the daughter of Denard and Elma Carawan.  
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 48 years, Carl 
Barnes; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and James Kindelsperger of 
Middleburg, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, James and April Barnes of 
Hopkinsville, Ky.; brothers, James and Roy Carawan; sisters, Fannie Selby, 
Verna Floyd, Metta Rich and Annetta Bagley; grand-children, James and Fred 
Kindelsperger, Austin Frederick, Justin Bradley Barnes and Austin Taylor 
Linn; brothers-in-law, Jack Floyd, Fred Bagley, Ronald May, Jim Powers and 
Denny Summers; sisters-in-law, Joyce Carawan, Duckie Carawan, Judy Carawan,
Betty Jean Powers, Joyce Summers and Holly May; along with many wonderful 
nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and ever-loving Advent Lutheran Church 
congregation. 
Ila was an ever-loving wife, mother and friend who will be dearly missed. 
Viewing will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home, Alliance.  
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lowland Community Cemetery,
Lowland.  
Inclement weather service site will be the Lowland Church of Christ, Lowland.  
Family will receive friends at 606 Middle Prong Road, Lowland.
