Obituary of Jack Durwood Brinson ~ 2005

ARAPAHOE - Jack Durwood Brinson, 94, of Arapahoe, NC died Sunday, 
September 4 at Britthaven of Pamlico in Alliance, NC. A funeral service is 
scheduled for Tuesday, September 6 at 2:00 pm at Bethany Christian Church 
in Arapahoe with the Revs. Merritt Watson and Gary Edge officiating, with 
interment to follow at Amity Christian Church Cemetery in Arapahoe.
A graduate of Atlantic Christian College of Wilson, NC, he served his adult
life as a Sunday school teacher and Elder of Bethany Christian Church. He 
also served as a Trustee of Atlantic Christian College (not Barton College)
for over 40 years and as a Board Member of the North Carolina Department of
Transportation.  He is survived by his son, Jack Douglas Brinson, and wife,
Annette, of Arapahoe. He also leaves behind three grandchildren whom he 
loved dearly: Jack Benjamin Brinson of Columbia, Maryland, Mary Kate 
Brinson of Winterville, NC and Sarah Jane Brinson of Arapahoe, NC.
The son of Jehu Jackson Brinson and Kate Pipkin Brinson, he was preceded 
in death by his wife, Elizabeth Belangia Brinson, and daughter, Elizabeth 
Faye Brinson.  Visitation was held Monday, September 5 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm 
at Bryant Funeral Home and Cremations in Alliance and at other times at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Brinson of Arapahoe.
