ORIENTAL - Jackie Johnson Sr., 74, of 903 Broad St., died Sunday, Jan. 17, 
2010, at his residence. 
He was born in Oriental and attended the Pamlico County Training School. 
His employment with Garland Fulcher Seafood covered a span of more than 20 
years as a fisherman and seafood processor.  
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Pierce Chapel AME Zion Church, 
Oriental, with the Rev. Annette H. Satterfield officiating. The burial 
will follow in the Odd Fellow Cemetery.  
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Johnson of the home; one son, Jackie 
Johnson Jr. of At-lanta, Ga.; five daughters, Vanessa Joyner of 
Grantsboro, Veronica Jones of Bayboro, Samantha Miller and Minner Rogers, 
both of Oriental, and Brenda Green of Clinton; four stepchildren, Derrick 
Boone and Stanley Boone, both of Oriental, Norman Boone of Smithfield and 
Jenise Smith of Raleigh; three brothers, Christopher Johnson of 
Fayetteville, Lee Ernest Johnson and William H. Johnson, both of Hamden, 
Conn.; four sisters, the Rev. Leatrice Burney of Oriental, Mary Wiley of 
Austin, Texas, Detra Wright of Macon, Ga., and Ina Lottie Austin of the 
Bronx, N.Y.; 23 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.   
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be from 10 
a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Oscar's Mortuary and at the church Thursday one 
hour prior to the service.  
Arrangements are by Oscar's Mortuary Inc.
