Obituary of James Kenneth Davis ~ 2005

James Kenneth "J. Ken" Davis, 81, of Oriental, NC died Saturday, March 19, 
2005, at Craven Regional Medical Center.
J. Ken was a member of Oriental Methodist Church. He also worked with his 
son Linwood at Village Hardware in Oriental. He served in the U.S. Marine 
Corps during World War II and Korea.
He was also a graduate of the FBI Academy.  
J. Ken was preceded in death by his sister, Julia Hood and daughter-in-law,
Judy Stowe.
Memorial service with military honors will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2005,
at 11:00 a.m. at Oriental United Methodist Church with Rev. Stan Brown and 
Rev. Murray Etheridge officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" B. Davis; four sons, Harold 
Davis and wife Anne of Charlotte, NC, Jed Davis of FL, Linwood C. Stowe 
and wife Betty of Oriental, NC and Brian D. Stowe of New Bern; one 
daughter, Sharon Brooks and husband James of Mt. Holly, NC; one brother, 
Henry Davis and wife Stella of Cape Carteret; lifelong friends, Ernie 
Benge and wife Lathene of Thomasville, NC and Harold Wilson and wife 
Carlene of Jacksonville, FL; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
