Obituary of James Jacob Fulcher ~ 2008

James Jacob Fulcher, 93, of 632 Straight Road, Oriental, died Sunday, 
March 2, 2008, at Greenfield Place, Greenville. He was a veteran of the 
U.S. Army and a member of the American legion Post 238. He was employed 
by Bayboro Cleaners for over 40 years and was self-employed as a 
carpenter, mechanic and landscaper. He was a lifetime member of Pilgrim 
Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Oriental, and served in the Men's Choir.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the New Bern Eastern Association 
Headquarters, 885 N.C. Highway 306, Grantsboro. Burial will be in the Odd 
Fellows Cemetery, Oriental.  
He is survived by his wife, Annie Ollison Fulcher of the home; two sons, 
James B. Fulcher of Oriental and Archie K. Fulcher of Irmo, S.C.; three 
daughters, Linda F. Hunter of Greenville, Bonnie F. Whitney of Raleigh, 
and Barbara F. Spivey of Georgetown, S.C.; one brother, Phillip Fisher of 
Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Ruby Gibbs of Oriental; 13 grandchildren; 
24 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.  
The family will receive friends at the residence. 
Viewing will be at Oscar's Mortuary from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and at 
the headquarters an hour prior to the service.
