HOBUCKEN - James Luther Phillips, 85, died Thursday, July 17 at Craven 
Regional Medical Center.  
He is survived by his sons, Joseph Earl Phillips, postmaster in Hobucken, 
and James L. Phillips of Hurdle Mills; and one daughter, Marie Smith of 
Aurora.  
A funeral service was conducted in Wilson on Sunday afternoon, July20 at 
Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Chapel with burial in Evergreen Memorial Park in 
Wilson.
