Obituary of James Hermon Squires ~ 2011

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD. - James Hermon Squires, 79, died Friday, June 17, 
2011, at Southern Maryland Hospital.  
He was a native of the Maribel Community of Pamlico County and a veteran 
of the U. S. Army. He retired as maintenance supervisor from the U.S. 
Pentagon and was appointed to Homeland Security as an equal opportunity 
counselor.  
His funeral will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Antioch United 
Church of Christ with the Rev. Genard Sawyer, pastor and the Rev. 
Gwendolyn G. Parmley, eulogist. 
The interment with military honors will follow in the WP Squires Family 
Cemetery.  
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Campbell Squires of the home; two sons, 
Kevin Haywood of Washington, DC and Ronald Hutton of Jamaica, N.Y.; three 
brothers, Philip Squires of Boston, Mass., William "Bud" Squires and 
Richard Squires of Richmond, Va.; and five sisters, Rosa Squires of 
Maribel, Frances Squires Carter and Mary Squires Patterson of New Bern, 
Alice Squires Peaks of Rosedale, N.Y. and Merdice Squires Clark of 
Atlanta, Ga.  
The family will receive friends at 145 Swan Point Road, Maribel.  
Viewing will be at the church one hour prior to the service.  
Arrangements are by Oscar's Mortuary, Inc.
