Obituary of Jessie Sybil Hodges Watson ~ 2003

RALEIGH - Mrs. Jessie Sybil Hodges Watson, 86, of Raleigh, died Wednesday, 
October 1, 2003 at Rex Healthcare Hospice Unit. 
A native of Pamlico County and born December 7, 1916, she was the daughter 
of the late Johnny Hodges and Annie Bateman Hodges. 
Mrs. Watson and her late husband, Ebern T. Watson, Sr. owned and operated 
Watson's Seafood and Poultry Company from 1946 to 1987. 
She was instrumental in helping to establish Brooks Avenue Church of 
Christ, where she was a very active member for many years and a former 
Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Watson was a kind, gracious and caring person 
and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2003 at 
Brooks Avenue Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial 
Park.  
She was predeceased by her husband, Ebern T. Watson, Sr. in 1996 and by a 
daughter, June Watson Brannock in January 2003.
