Obituary of Jimmy Brooks Broughton ~ 2006

ORIENTAL - Jimmy Brooks Broughton, 70, died Wednesday, February 15, 2006, 
at Craven Regional Medical Center. 
Jimmy was a native of Oriental and everyone knew him. He was a loved friend. 
Jimmy was a carpenter and house builder for 35 years. When he retired from 
that, he had a lawn business and helped his son with his business.
Jimmy loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and loved the water. He 
loved his family and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Sue Everett; his parents, 
Jim and Minnie Broughton; three brothers, Delma, A.D. and Elbert; and three
sisters, Peggy Scott, Darlene Kindlesparkle and Arlene Marini.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Madeline P. Broughton; one son, 
Brooks Broughton and wife Tammy; five grandchildren, Carly and Lindsey 
Everett and their father, Aaron; Amanda and Brandon Broughton and Tiffany 
Scott, all of Oriental; and one sister, Billie and husband Tommy Glisson 
of Florida.  Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Dwayne Boyd officiating. 
Burial will follow in Oriental Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. 
Saturday, just prior to the funeral service.
