BAYBORO - Jimmy Grey "Big Jim" Jarvis Sr., 79, of 42 First Lane, Mesic 
community, Bayboro, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at Craven Regional Medical 
Center.  
He was a lifelong member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church, serving as choir member 
and in the all-male chorus. He was employed as a commercial fisherman and
retired from NADEP at Cherry Point.  
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at Mt. Olive M.B. 
Church, Mesic, with the Rev. C.A. Felton officiating. 
Burial will be in Mesic Memorial Cemetery.  
He is survived by his wife, Mary Eva G. Jarvis of the home; seven sons, 
James Lewis of New Bern, Allen Lewis of Boston, Mass., David Sawyer of 
Stonewall, Jimmy Jarvis Jr. of Raleigh, Timmie Jarvis of Maysville, Rodney 
Jarvis of Durham and Myron Jarvis of Raleigh; five daughters, Ellen 
Williams and Arlene Lewis of Boston, Mass., Kathy Jarvis of the home, and 
Flora Jones and Marvella Jones of Bayboro; 40 grandchildren; 45 
great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and five 
great-great-great-grandchildren.  
The family will receive friends at the residence. 
Viewing will be at Oscar's Mortuary Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and at 
the church one hour prior to the service.
