ARAPAHOE - Joseph "Jody" William Brinson, III, 51, died Thursday, February 
27, 2003 at Craven Regional Medical Center. 
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph W. Brinson, Jr.  
He is survived by his mother, Dorcas Banks Brinson of the home; brother, 
Gary Brinson and wife, Sue, of Garner; sister, Gail Brinson and companion, 
Phil Bowie, of New Bern; fiance, Debbie Lee, of Olympia and her children, 
Jennifer and Julie; uncles, Lee Banks of Virginia Beach, VA and Bob Kasey 
and wife, Norma, of New Bern; aunt, Clara Eldridge of Arapahoe; nephews, 
Mead Roberts and wife, Robin, of Arapahoe, Todd Roberts and Cindy Swindell 
of Reelsboro; PTYOFCI Shane Brinson, USCG, Portsmouth, VA; nieces, Deneen 
Alvis and husband, Jobe, of Jacksonville, NC, Shannon Eames of Garner and 
Summer Brinson of Garner; one great-nephew, Aaron Roberts of New Bern; two 
great nieces, Kristin Roberts and Ciara Roberts, both of Arapahoe.  
A Memorial Service was held Sunday, March 2 at 2 pm at Amity Christian 
Church with the Rev. Lynn Maxwell officiating. Burial was in the church 
cemetery. The family received friends on Saturday, March 1 from 7 pm until 
8 pm at Bryant Funeral Home, and other times at the home, 8626 Neuse Road, 
Arapahoe.
