MESIC - Johnannie Swift Gibbs, 78, of 99 Second Lane, died Thursday, Sept. 
18, 2008, at Craven Regional Medical Center.  
She was a native of Beaufort County and resided in Mesic for over 60 years.
She was a member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church and formerly served as secretary 
of the Usher Board, and treasurer of the Missionary Board.  
The funeral service will be at 1 p .m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Mt. Olive
M.B. Church with Rev. C. A. Felton and Rev. Timothy Jarvis officiating. 
Burial will be in the Mesic Memorial Cemetery.  
She is survived by her five sons, Thomas Earl Credle, of Queens, N.Y., 
Levi Gibbs of Aurora, Timothy Gibbs of Tennessee, Donald Gibbs of Mesic, 
and Ellis Gibbs of Beaufort; three daughters, Nan Beasley and Linda Gibbs 
Ward, both of Bayboro, and Audrey Willis of Georgia; one brother, George 
Swift of Raleigh; one sister, Roberta Stanley of Washington; 28 
grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.  
The family will receive friends at the residence of Donald and Janice 
Gibbs, 98 Second Lane.
Viewing will be 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, at Oscar's Mortuary.
