ALLIANCE - John E. Lockey, 62, of Alliance died Monday, March 13 at his 
home. 
A graveside service was held in Cowell Cemetery in Alliance on Thursday, 
March 16 at 11 am with the Rev. Lee Toler officiating.  
He was a member of Rainbow Lodge #379, Pamlico County Mourner Unit, 
Scottish Rite, Sudan Temple and DAV.  
He is survived by Betty of the home; one daughter, Krystal L. Woods of 
Bridgeton; stepdaughters, Teresa Bell of Reelsboro and Tina Hacker of 
Olympia; two brothers, Virgil Lockey of Jacksonville, NC and Henry Lockey 
of New Bern; three sisters, Marie L. Purifoy of Houston, Texas, Earline 
Gaskins of Vanceboro and Lula Garner of Newport, NC; two grandchildren; 
one great-grandchild; and eight step-grandchildren.
