Obituary of Johnnie Mitchell Sr ~ 2008

Johnnie Mitchell Sr., 65, of New Bern died Wednesday, February 19, 2008, 
at Craven Regional Medical Center. 
He was a retired carpenter, welder and fisherman, and was a veteran of the 
U.S. Army.  The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Alliance Pentecostal 
Holiness Church with burial to follow in Sandhill Cemetery, Reelsboro, at 
3:30 p.m.  
Mr. Mitchell is survived by Linda Mitchell of New Bern; his five children, 
Penny Mitchell Jenkins of New Bern, Tina Marie Mitchell of Grantsboro, 
Johnnie M. Mitchell Jr. of Grantsboro, Barbara Mitchell Ramsey of Havelock 
and Mary Mitchell Wuellner of Trent Woods; five brothers, Randolph 
Mitchell of Reelsboro, Thomas Sawyer of Reelsboro, William Sawyer of 
Florida, Dewitt Sawyer of Reelsboro and Jackie Sawyer of Reelsboro; two 
sisters, Patricia Dail of Mississippi and Goldie Wells of New Bern; 
fourteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. 
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Edwards.  
The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 to noon at 
Pollock-Best Funeral Home in New Bern.
