ORIENTAL - Joseph Franklin Harris, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, 
December 8, 2011.  
He was born January 18, 1935, at the family farm at Kershaw, NC.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Attmore Harris and Mary 
Gooding Harris.  
He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Stahnten Harris; son, Joseph 
F. Harris Jr., and wife, Melanie; daughters, W. Chenoah Styron and husband 
Mike, and Deborah Harris Thomas and husband Charles; grandchildren, J. 
Fisher Harris, Alex, Emily and Grace Styron, Brooke Lupton, and Tyler 
Thomas; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret H. Midyette, Catherine 
H. Davis; and cousins, Jo Ann Dalton and Sara Prieto. 
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, December 17, at Oriental 
First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Harper officiating.  
The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service 
at the church.  
Arrangements are by Bryant Funeral Home & Crematory, Alliance.
