BAYBORO - Joseph Otto Himbry Jr., 69, of 340 Neal Creek Road, Bayboro, 
died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at his residence.  
Joseph Himbry was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a resident of Bayboro 
for 32 years. He served on the Bayboro town board for 16 years and was a 
driving force for the economic development in Pamlico County. He was a 
member of Greenhill MB Church.  His funeral service will be at noon 
Saturday at the New Bern Eastern Missionary Baptist Association 
Headquarters, 885 N.C. 306 North, Grantsboro with the Rev. Kenneth Bell 
officiating. The interment will be at the Green Hill M.B. Church Cemetery, 
Bayboro.  
He is survived by his wife, Vennie H. Himbry of the home; two sons, Derek 
Himbry Sr. of Bayboro, Daniel Himbry of High Point; two daughters, 
Josephine Himbry of Bayboro, Alysia Himbry of High Point; four 
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-sons, Whitford Miller 
Jr. and Tony Miller of New Bern, Keith Miller of Newark, N.J., and Prince 
Miller of Fort Walters Beach, Fla.; one step-daughter, Letise Himbry of 
Merritt.  
The family will receive friends from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Friday at Oscar's 
Mortuary, 1700 Oscar Drive, New Bern. The Masonic and Eastern Star 
ritualistic services will follow at 7 p.m. by The Queen of the East No. 
79, Eastern Star Chapter No. 76, Golden Crown No. 8, King Solomon 
Commander No. 6, Shadid Temple No. 233, Arabian Temple No. 42.  
Viewing will be at Oscar's Mortuary today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 
Friday, beginning at 2 p.m.  
Arrangements are by Oscar's Mortuary.
