Obituary of Josephine Gibbs Smith ~ 2010

MESIC - Josephine Gibbs Smith, 87, of 8374 N.C. 304, died Monday, Oct. 25, 
2010, at CarolinaEast Medical Center. 
She was a native of Mesic and was formerly employed in the seafood industry
and retired from Cherry Point. She formerly served as assistant youth 
director at Mt. Olive M.B. Church.
Funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday at Mount Olive M.B. Church, 
with the Rev. C. A. Felton officiating. The interment will be in the Mesic 
Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her five sons, Alexander Smith of Aurora, Oliver Gray 
Smith of Rocky Mount, Hildrew Smith of Providence, R.I., Hubert Smith of 
Aurora, and Charles Smith of Nashville, Tenn.; six daughters, Annie Amicy 
of New York, N.Y., Wilma Jones and Levern Robinson, both of the home, 
Virginia Smith of Aurora, Lavender Minor and Marina Cole, both of New 
Bern; 38 grandchildren; and 60 great-great-grandchildren. 
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be at 
Oscar's Mortuary on Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and at the church one 
hour prior to the service.
