GRANTSBORO - Joseph Patrick Johnson Sr., 84, died Monday, July 25, 2011, 
at home.  He taught woodworking at Pamlico Community College.   
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Johnson; one son, Joseph Johnson Jr. 
of Sterling Heights, Mich.; five daughters, Cher Johnson and Alice 
Johnson, both of Sterling Heights, Mich., Judy Armstrong of Troy, Mich., 
Arlita DeRoo of Utica, Mich. and Mary Linteau of Macomb Township, Mich.; 
nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  
A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by 
Bryant Funeral Home & Cremations, Alliance.
