Obituary of Joseph Varion Popperwill ~ 2010

Joseph Varion Popperwill, 85, of 103 Myrtle Drive, Moyock died Wednesday, 
Nov. 10, 2010 at his residence. 
Born in Pamlico County, he was the son of the late Robert and Etta Lupton 
Popperwill and was the husband of Ruby Bowling Popperwill of the residence.
Along with his wife, Mr. Popperwill is survived by his daughters, Nancy 
Beatty, Brenda Morein, and Carol Warburton; sons, Joe Popperwill Jr., 
Larry Popperwill, Tracey Popperwill, Todd Popperwill, and David Sears; a 
sister, Nina Hollomon; a brother, Robert Popperwill; twenty six 
grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda 
Hanson. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at 11 
a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor James Harrington officiating.
Burial will follow in Moyock Memorial Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends at Twiford's Memorial Chapel Friday evening 
from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 East 
Church Street, Elizabeth City, is serving the Popperwill family.
