Obituary of Joyce Spady Fisher ~ 2010

MERRITT - Joyce Spady Fisher, 66, of 350 Fisher Road, died Thursday, Jan. 
28, 2010, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.  
A native of Virginia, she attended Norfolk State University. She was a 
member of Bethel M.B. Church and served as an usher and was employed as a 
teacher in Pamlico County Schools for 18 years.  
The funeral will be at noon Friday at the New Bern Eastern M.B. 
Association Headquarters in Grantsboro, with the Rev. Frederick Fisher and 
the Rev. Tony Credle officiating. 
Burial will be in the Fisher Family Cemetery.  
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Frederick W. Fisher of the home; 
one son, Frederick T. Fisher of Greenville; two daughters, Karen F. 
Mattocks of Columbia, S.C., and Lynette F. Francis of Fuquay-Varina; one 
sister, Arzalia Spady of Baltimore, Md.; and five grandchildren.  
The family will receive friends at the residence.  
Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Oscar's Mortuary and 
one hour prior to the service at the church.  
Arrangements are by Oscar's Mortuary Inc.
