Obituary of Lawrence Willis Harrell ~ 1989

Lawrence Willis Harrell, 84, of Bay Avenue in Somers Point, died Tuesday 
in the Ocean Point Health Care Center.  
Born in Oriental, N.C., Mr. Harrell had been an area resident for the past 
26 years.  He had been a shipping clerk for Clark and Clark of New York 
City.  A member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Pleasantville, where 
he also served as treasurer/trustee, Mr. Harrell also was a member of the 
Bridge Street A.M.E. Church, Brooklyn, N.Y., where he also served as a 
trustee.  He was a past master of the Constina Masonic Lodge Order of 
Prince Hall.  
Surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth Jenkins of Pleasantville; one brother, 
Richard of Oriental, N.C.; one sister, Olivia Gilliams of New Bern, S.C.; 
three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Salem United Methodist 
Church, Pleasantville. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Pleasantville. 
Friends may call at noon Saturday at the church.
