Lena Lewis Beachum, 89, of Gardens of Pamlico, formerly of Wilmington, died
Monday, April 13, 2009, at Two Rivers Healthcare.
She was valedictorian of her senior class. She volunteered after her 
retirement.
She is survived by one son, James Albert Beachum of South Dakota; two 
daughters, Carol Sue Saldutti of Hatfield, Penn., and Jane B. Pope of 
Aurora; one sister, Ruby Horsefall of Boiling Springs Lakes; nine 
grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
