Obituary of Leo T. Brinson ~ 1999

Leo T. Brinson, 76, a native of Arapahoe, NC died March 21 after suffering 
complications of pneumonia.
He served as a Lt. in the US Navy during World WAR II in Guam.
He received his Masters degree in Engineering from NCSU, and was employed 
in the midwest during his working years at Nordberg Mfg. of Milwaukee, 
Brown Boveri of St. Cloud, MN and GM of LaGrange, IL.
He retired and returned to his hometown of Arapahoe in 1987, where he has 
been active in local activities. He has served as Mayor of Arapahoe for 
the past 10 years, past president of Rotary of Oriental, member of Pamlico 
Shrine Club, advisory board of the Charter School, Retirement Club of 
Arapahoe, and an active member of Bethany Christian Church of Arapahoe.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Madge Cross Brinson; one son, 
Edward and his wife, Sue Brinson of Madison, WI; one daughter, Linda and 
her husband, Barry Fox of Cheshire, CT; and three granddaughters, Meghan, 
Molly and Lana Fox of Cheshire, CT; one sister, Kathleen and her husband 
"Shadow" Nelson of Chapala, Mexico; one brother, Bill and his wife, Marian 
Brinson of Chapel Hill; one special uncle, Jack Brinson of Arapahoe and 
one aunt, Edith Brinson of Twin Rivers Nursing Home of New Bern, NC and 
many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany Christian Church. 
Burial will be 3:30 p.m. Wed.  at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Bryant Funeral Home, Alliance, NC 7-8 
p.m. Tuesday night.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethany Christian Church, the 
Pamlico County Rescue Squad, Bayboro, NC or the charity of your choice.
