Obituary of Leon Luther Barrow ~ 1998

POLLOCKSVILLE -- Leon Luther Barrow Sr., 81, of 495 Davis Field Road in 
Pollocksville died September 11, 1998, at Bayview Nursing Center.  
He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of 
World War II, receiving a Purple Heart, European African Middle Eastern 
Theater ribbon with two Bronze stars and Combat Infantry Badge.  
He is survived by his son, Leon Lupton Barrow Jr. of New Bern; two daughters, 
Carolyn Mills of Trenton, N.C., and Norma Turner of Durham; two brothers, 
Eugene Barrow of Pamlico County and Luther Barrow of Pollocksville; one 
sister, Ida Rowe of New Bern; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cotten Chapel, Cotten 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Harris and the Rev. Allen Croom officiating. 
Burial will be in New Bern National Cemetery.  
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Cotten Funeral 
Home.
