PHILADELPHIA, PA. — Lerue Blango “Sister” Newsome, 67, of Philadelphia, Pa., 
died Sunday, March 25 at Albert Einstein Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa. 
She was a native of Arapahoe, N.C., and resided in Philadelphia for over 
40 years where she was employed with Akron Marketing Co.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Westcott Funeral Home.
She is survived by three sons, Richard Newsome Jr., Dwight Newsome and 
Jamie Newsome, all of Philadelphia, Pa.; four daughters, Shelia Newsome, 
Juanita Newsome and Lathasa Newsome, all of Philadelphia, Pa., and Cheryl 
Newsome Anderson of New Haven, Conn.; four brothers, Donnie Blango Jr., 
Long Side, N.J.; Primrose Blango, and Jonathan Blango, both of 
Philadelphia, Pa., and Aria Blango of Capital Heights, Md.; one sister, 
Ruthie Styron of Oriental, N.C.; nine grandchildren and three 
great-grandchildren.
