Obituary of Letha Jones Gibbs ~ 2007

MESIC - Letha Jones Gibbs, 72, of 271 Park Ave., died Saturday, June 9, 
2007, at Cra-ven Regional Medical Center.  
A native of Pamlico County, she was formerly employed with Caroon Brothers 
Sea-food. She was an usher, youth department organizer and food service 
department member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church.  
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Olive M.B. Church with the Revs. 
C.A. Felton and Tony Credle officiating.  
Burial will be in Mesic Memorial Cemetery.  
She is survived by four sons, Larry Gibbs of Oriental, Samuel Mufaro of 
Raleigh, Ervin Gibbs of Raleigh, and Christopher Levi Gibbs of Franklin, 
Mass.; one daughter, Carolyn Burt of Durham; one brother, Columbus Jones 
of Bayboro; one sister, Flossie Gibbs of Bayboro; 27 grandchildren; 29 
great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.  
The family will receive friends at the residence.  
Viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today at Oscar’s Mortuary, New Bern, and 
one hour prior to the service at the church.
