ORIENTAL- Lillian Marshall Corey died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Oriental United
Methodist Church, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall.
The family welcomes visitors anytime. "Lib" grew up in Summerfield, raised
her children in Greensboro and moved to Oriental in 1974 with her new
husband Jack Corey. Lib was a fierce competitor on the golf course and
tennis court and was known to enjoy holding a fishing rod in her hand. It
was not uncommon to hear a knock on your door and see Lib standing there
with a pot of soup, a helping hand or a word of wisdom or advice. She loved
her husband, her children and her community with zest and with a servant's
heart.
She is survived by her children, Alec (Mary) Sharpe of Kernersville, Debby
(Steve) Hight of Winterville, Greg (Mary) Sharpe of Woodbury, Minn., and
Danny (Ann) Sharpe of Eastampton, N.J. She was the lover of 10
grandchildren, Daniel Sharpe, Corey Sharpe, Haven (Lee) Smith, Jordan
Hight, Mary Marshall Sharpe, Will Sharpe, Nancy Sharpe, Marshall Sharpe,
Sarah Sharpe and Morgan Sharpe; and one great-grandchild, Landon Smith.
She volunteered with Hospice of Pamlico County and was an active member of
Oriental United Methodist Church (memorials may be designated to either).
Arrangements by Bryant Funeral Home & Cremations, Alliance.
