ORIENTAL - Linston P. Fulcher Sr., 82, of 1300 Broad St. Extension, died 
Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Craven Regional Medical Center.  
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of 
American Legion Post 238. He was the oldest member of Pierce Chapel A.M.E. 
Zion Church, where he served as Sunday School superintendent, trustee 
chairman and president of the male chorus. He retired from the 
Transportation Department of Pamlico County.  
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pierce Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church with the 
Rev. James Cannon Jr., officiating.  
Burial will be in Odd Fellow Cemetery.  
He is survived by his wife, Marthina G. Fulcher, of the home; three sons, 
Linston Fulcher Jr., of Rock Hill, S.C., and Jewell Gaskins and Timmy 
Gibbs of Oriental; four daughters, Blondell Clayton of Florida, Diane 
Capers and Pamela O’Pharrow of New York, and Tinisha Gibbs of Oriental; 
16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.  
The family will receive friends at the residence. 
Viewing will be noon to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 
Oscar’s Mortuary, New Bern.
