Louis Paul Jones Sr., 85, of Minnesott Beach, died November 24, 2008, at 
home.
He served his country on the USS Grayson in the South Pacific during World
War II. A former resident of Tarboro, he was employed with Sprint and 
retired to Minnesott Beach. He enjoyed wood working and crafts and helping 
his neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his son, Louis Paul Jones Jr., one brother, 
John H. Jones and his sister, Norma J. Paul. 
He is survived by his daughter, Janet Gant and husband, Douglas, of 
Prairieville, La.; one brother, Harold R. Jones and wife, Janet, of New 
Bern; his great niece, Johanna L. Hicks and husband, Michael, of Minnesott 
Beach and their children, Trevor J. Green and Bradley E. Southard; two 
grandchildren, Erin Gant-Steele and her fiancé, Carlos Pereira, and Brian 
Gant; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Talia Steele. He 
is also survived by his former wife, Sally M. Jones of Prairieville, La. 
and his daughter in-law, Aida Rodriguez of Atlanta, Ga.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008, at 
Cotten Chapel with Rev. Eddy Gabbert officiating. The family will receive 
friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Pamlico County, 
11146 NC Hwy. 55, Grantsboro, N.C. 28529.
