Lucille Lane Whorton, 96, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at CarolinaEast 
Medical Center.  
She was a member of Silver Hill Christian Church in Grantsboro and the 
Eastern Star.  
She is survived by one son, Bruce L. Willard of Klamath Falls, Ore.; 
stepson Elmer Claude Willard of Jamestown; daughter Cheryl Salter of New 
Bern; stepdaughter Mildred B. Spivey of Washington; seven grandchildren 
and 10 great-grandchildren.  
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pollock-Best Funeral Home 
Chapel with Rev. Amos Sykes officiating.  
Arrangements are by Pollock-Best Funerals and Cremations.
