REELSBORO - Mabel Sadler Sawyer, 93, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday,
January 31, 2006, at Britthaven of Pamlico.
She was born December 15, 1912, the daughter of the late Ben and Sallie
Sadler, in Hobucken.
She married Henry Sawyer in March 1940.
He preceded her in death on May 11, 1990.
Three of her sons, Charles Kafer Potter, Bobby Potter and Carroll Sawyer,
also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Sawyer was a beautiful lady and a devoted and loving wife and mother.
She was a true friend with a great sense of humor. She will be missed by
everyone.
She is survived by her children, Earl Potter and wife Sarah of New Bern,
B.J. Sawyer of Reelsboro, Sandra S. Powers and husband Mike of Grantsboro,
and Janice S. Shorey and husband Miles of Oriental; brother, George Sadler
of Chesapeake, Va.; sister, Dorothy Campen of Chesapeake, Va.; much loved
sister-in-law, Lillian Sadler of Hobucken; much loved daughter-in-law,
Linda Sawyer; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-
great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the
Rev. Charles Hardison officiating. Burial will be in Oriental Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant
Funeral Home.
