VANDEMERE - Mack Arthur Northan, 63, of 694 Pennsylvania Ave., Vandemere, 
died Oct. 11, 2007, at Craven Regional Medical Center.
He was a member of the St. James A.M.E. Zion Church in Vandemere, where he 
served on the usher board until his health declined. He worked as a 
commercial fisherman with Pamlico Packing Co. until injuries from an 
accident prevented him from doing so.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church 
with the Rev. Curtis Oden Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Hudnell 
Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Northan of the home; three sons, 
Christopher Northan of Florida, LaVar Northan of Greenville and Aaron 
Northan of the home; one daughter, Caryn Northan of Florida; two brothers, 
Frank Northan of Garner and Johnny Northan of Manhattan, N.Y.; two 
sisters, Mary Stilley of New Bern and Lola Jennette of South Carolina; 
and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence. The viewing will be from 
1 to 6 p.m. today at Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 
church service Wednesday.
