Obituary of Malcolm Thomas Whitford ~ 2005

GRANTSBORO - Mr. Malcolm Thomas Whitford, 92, of Grantsboro died Saturday, 
September 17 at Britthaven of Pamlico. 
A funeral service has been planned for Tuesday, September 20, 11:00 am, at 
New Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church in Grantsboro with the Revs. Buddy 
Sasser and Graham Lane officiating with burial in the Church Cemetery.  
Mr. Whitford was a member and Trustee of New Bethlehem Free Will Baptist 
Church. He was on the Bay River Soil and Water District, past Pamlico 
County Commissioner, member of the Pamlico County Draft Board, board 
member of the Pamlico County Farm Bureau, and member of the Good Sam 
Running Bears Club. He also owned and operated Whitford Farms.  
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kittie Scott Whitford, and one son, 
Carlton Whitford.  
He is survived by his two sons, Scott Whitford and wife Sue of Grantsboro 
and Dalton Whitford and wife Celia of Grantsboro; one sister, Rosa Blanche 
Brinson of Grantsboro; two nephews and six nieces; two step grandchildren 
and two step great-grandchildren.  
The family received friends Monday night, September 19 at Bryant Funeral 
Home from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm and other times at the home in Grantsboro.
