ORIENTAL - Marion Williams Hardy, 85, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at 
Craven Regional Medical Center.  
Mrs. Hardy was a member of Oriental United Methodist Church and was a 
church historian. 
She was the author of “Oriental: I Remember When,” and “A Glimpse of 
Pamlico County.”  
She is survived by her son, John E. Hardy III and wife Linda of Rocky 
Mount; one daughter, Christine Beeman and husband John of Arapahoe; two
brothers, Dalton Williams of Jacksonville and Oliver Williams of Lancaster,
Calif.; one sister, Melba Soltow of New Bern; and two grandchildren, 
Meredith Beeman and Roger Wayne Hardy.  
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Hardy Jr.  
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, at Oriental United 
Methodist Church with Rev. Walter Graves officiating. Burial will be in 
Oriental Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour 
before the funeral from 10 to 11 a.m.
