Mary Mayo Andrews, 82, of Finn Road, died March 9, 2000, at her residence. 
Born in Hobucken, N.C., she was the widow of William Guilford Andrews and 
had retired as a fifth-grade teacher. She taught in the Virginia Beach and 
North Carolina school systems. Mrs. Andrews was a member of Baylake United 
Methodist Church and its Ruth Reynolds Circle. She was a former member of 
Alliance United Methodist Church in Alliance, N.C. She was also a member 
of the Order of the Eastern Star in Bayboro, N.C., and vice president of 
the Ocean Park Women's Club.  Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Olivia 
Andrews of San Francisco, Calif.; and two brothers and their wives, J. 
Alfred Mayo Jr. and Elsie L. Mayo of New Bern, N.C., and Hallett W. Mayo 
and Glenda I. Mayo of Goldsboro, N.C. She was predeceased by a sister, 
Lois M. Jones.  A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at 
Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Ted. E. David. A 
graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Town Cemetery in 
Bethel, N.C., by the Rev. Robert W. Simpson. The family will receive 
friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial donations 
may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
