MESIC - Mary Eva Glasper Jarvis, 87, of 42 First Lane, died Saturday, Oct. 
29, 2011.  
She was formerly employed at Headstart as a dietician. Her membership at 
Mount Olive M. B. Church included serving as a Mother and Hospitality 
Committee member.  
Her funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at the New Bern 
Eastern M.B. Association Headquarters, 885 N.C. 306 North, Grantsboro with 
the Rev. C. A. Felton Jr., pastor and Timmy Jarvis, eulogist. 
Burial will follow in Mesic Memorial Cemetery.  
She is survived by seven sons, James Lewis of New Bern, Allen Lewis of 
Cape Cod, Mass., Jimmy Jarvis Jr. of Raleigh, Timmy Jarvis of Cape 
Carteret, Rodney Jarvis of Durham, Myron Jarvis of Wake Forest, and David 
Sawyer of Stonewall; five daughters, Ellen Williams and Arlene Lewis of
Boston, Mass., Kathy Jarvis, Flora Jones and Marvella Jones, all of 
Bayboro; three sisters, Maxine G. Midgette of New Bern, Eula G. Barrow of 
Aurora, and Shirley G. Smith of Fayetteville; and a host of grandchildren 
and great-grandchildren.  
The family will receive friends at the residence of Howard and Marvella 
Jones, 3728 N.C. 304, Maribel Community.
