NEW BERN - Mary Elizabeth Tripp Jones, 61, of 2915 Brunswick Avenue, died 
Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at CarolinaEast Medical Center and was a native of 
the Goose Creek Community of Grantsboro.
She was a member of Union Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church and a 1968 graduate 
of Pamlico County Training School.
Her funeral will be noon, Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Clinton Chapel 
A.M.E. Zion with the Rev. J.L. Cox, pastor, and the Rev. Terrence Tripp, 
eulogist, the Rev. Joyce Bell, officiant. The burial will be in the Union 
Chapel A.M.E.Z. Church Cemetery, Goose Creek community, of Grantsboro.
She is survived by her mother, Lucille Miller Tripp of Grantsboro; two 
sons, David Jones Jr. of Fayetteville and John Calvin Jones of Tacoma, 
Wash.; two daughters, Maria Jones Evans of Ft. Bragg and Michelle Jones 
of Wilmington; two brothers, Tony Tripp of New Bern and Ernest Tripp of 
Bayboro; six sisters, Shirley Murray, Judy Hodges and Linda Godette, all 
of New Bern, Elsie Collins of Hamden, Conn., Karen Easter of Oceanside, 
Calif., and Sonja Gray of Grantsboro; 11 grandchildren and her grandmother, 
Naomi Miller of Bayboro.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Artis and Linda 
Godette, of 3086 N.C. 55 West, New Bern. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 
6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Oscar's Mortuary.
