Obituary of Mary Ireland Willis ~ 2010

MINNESOTT BEACH - Mary Ireland Willis, 91, peacefully departed this life 
to be with our Lord, May 3, 2010, at Britthaven of Pamlico.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph W. and Minnie Ireland of 
Mill Pond Road, Al-liance; brother, Cecil Ireland; and sister, Lucille 
Peele.  
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Herbert G. Willis Jr.; son, 
Dennis S. and wife, Helen Willis, of Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters, Doris 
Paul of Grantsboro, Ellen Dees of Greensboro and Lois and husband, Michael 
Calderaro, of Minnesott Beach; grandchildren, Nancy Willis, Christine 
(William) Witt, Dennis Jr. (Molly) Willis, all of Knoxville, Susan (Steve) 
Fenn of Raleigh; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mary had a long and wonderful life enjoying the simpler, best times of 
living in Miami and Co-coa Beach, Fla., and Pamlico County.  
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 8, at Bethany 
Christian Church, Arapa-hoe, with the Rev. Merritt Watson officiating. 
Interment will follow in Banks Cemetery.  
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday night, at 
Bryant Funeral Home.  
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Britthaven 
of Pamlico, for their love and care.
