Mayo Bradley Credle Sr., 91, of 8972 N.C. 304, Mesic, died Thursday, April 
23, 2009, at his residence.
He was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and served as 
chairman of the deacon board advisor to the missionary circle, the pulpit 
committee, treasurer of the Sunday School State Convention, and the board 
of trustees. He served in the United States Army, and was employed as an 
aircraft mechanic with NADEP at MCAS Cherry Point.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the New Bern Eastern 
Missionary Baptist Headquarters with the Rev. C.A. Felton officiating. 
Burial will be in the Mesic Community Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie Jones Credle of the home; three sons, 
George B. Credle of Cordova, Tenn,, Mayo B. Credle Jr. and Dalton Credle, 
both of Westwood, N.J.; six daughters, Betty C. Dudley, Loretta C. Mann, 
both of Bayboro, Zola C. Johnson, Virginia C. Battle, both of New Bern, 
Karen C. Stealing of Fayetteville, and Velma C. Teel of Mesic; one brother, 
Raymond Credle of Mesic; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two 
great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be Monday 
from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Oscar's Mortuary and one hour prior to the 
service at the headquarters.
