Aunt Morrie, as most of her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews lovingly called her, was born in Mesic, Pamlico County, N.C., on August 31, 1914. She was the daughter of Nancy Elizabeth Potter Jones and Charles Attmore Jones. On September 8, 1 944, she married Marco A. Piscareta. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2000. She survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles A. and Julia K. Jones, of Morehead City, N.C. She was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Jones Vickers. Aunt Morrie considered all of her nieces and nephews as her children. She was the favorite aunt of many, if not all. In addition to a large and extended family, she leaves many friends in Winston-Salem to grieve her passing. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church, Winston-Salem, N.C. As long as she lived in Winston-Salem, she was a member of the Order of the Amaranth, Inc., and the Twin City Chapter No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star. A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church, 2320 Country Club Rd., Winston-Salem at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2004.
Entombment will be at Salem Cemetery following the memorial service.
A special debt of thanks is owed to Anne and to her husband David. With
their care and dedicated attention Aunt Morris was able to live her life
to the end in the company of her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First
Christian Church, 2320 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103 or to
Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary Street, Raleigh, NC 27605 - Cremation
Society of the Carolinas, Raleigh.
CARY - Mildred Jones Pisacreta of 1276 Tarbert Drive, Cary passed away
Tuesday morning, May 18, 2004.
Mrs. Pisacreta was formerly a longtime resident of Winston-Salem before
making her home with her niece, Anne G. Scott of Cary. "Aunt Morrie," as
most of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews lovingly
called her, was born in Mesic, Pamlico County on Aug. 31, 1914. She was
the daughter of Nancy Elizabeth Potter Jones and Charles Attmore Jones.
On Sept. 8, 1944, she married Marco A. Pisacreta.
He preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 2000.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Jones Vickers.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles A. and Julia K.
Jones of Morehead City. Aunt Morrie considered all of her nieces and
nephews to be as her own children.
